Investor search for rural fiber-optic expansion in Lower Austria
nöGIG, wholly owned by the Province of Lower Austria until the end of 2019, is coordinating the roll-out of a future-proof fiber-optic infrastructure in Lower Austria. An investor was to be found for the expansion of the fiber optic network (installation for 100,000 households in the following 3 years), who would acquire a stake of approx. 75% in nöGIG and finance the further expansion.

- Management of the investor search process, including conducting negotiations with numerous investors and managing the due diligence process
- Handling of the M&A process, including the sale of approx. 75% of the shares
- Finalization of project financing phase 1 with €46 million
Results
- Entry of an investor (Allianz Group) with € 300 million equity, securing 100,000 fiber optic installations in Lower Austria
- Jürgen Kaiser received several awards for the successful implementation of this project:
- Interim Manager of the Year 2020
- First place at the Constantinus Award 2020 in the category Management Consulting
- National Champion Austria at the Constantinus Awards 2021
